May Bank Holiday summertime party

Monday 4th May

The sensational Abbey Road will be returning to perform at the Old Crown for another May Bank Holiday summertime party, celebrating the best of the Beatles. Delicious Hog Roast, plenty of beer and fabulous live music: its not to be missed!

Hog Roast and all the extras will be served in the barn from 12pm until 3pm, with a small outside bar open from 12pm until 5pm. The main bar will be open from midday as normal.

All the action will be taking place in the rear car park so please be aware that parking will be limited to the road and it will get very busy!
Please note that the Hog Roast will be the only food we will be serving and only during the times above, the main kitchen will be closed.

Essex Life Food and Drink Awards

Award winners for the second year running

Penny Campbell and her team at The Old Crown won the award for Community Pub of the Year in the Essex Life Fine Food & Drink Award competition for two years running. Old Crown Messing, the TeamPenny says: "We were all so pleased to be nominated for this award for the second year in a row. The time has flown by and has been so much fun, so it's fantastic to know that our customers have enjoyed it just as much as we have. It has been a real learning curve for everyone involved but we have already grown and changed so much in such a short time, we can't wait to see what the next few years have in store. We like to think this is a true community pub and from the very beginning our customers have been involved in making the pub what it is today. From helping with the refurbishment to recommending local food producers and guest ales, we value everyone's input."
